  1. I've just reviewed published British Standards from April 2022 to date for potential relevance across the profession. As before please checkout www.twitter.com/LI_Simono for further details. This is part of the service provided to members by volunteers working on the 3rd Party Standards Working Group which reports through me to Technical Committee. If you have insight into Standards you find useful please do share with me as we would like to collate them and are contemplating organising a training event on the subject. No one person will have a grasp of everything that is relevant so suggestions are welcome.
  2. Here's a reminder to track my Twitter feed for some key Jan-March releases from BSI. www.twitter.com/LI_Simono
  3. Happy New Year! You will be aware that I post the latest draft and full documents from BSI Group that I suspect may be of interest to some @talklandscape members. Here are the ones published in December 2021. Apologies that the image is unreadable; I think the LI has changed the permissions for image dimensions. But if you click through you will see them all clearly (as well as those published last year) and with active links. Don't forget that you can get a discount on these. Also bear in mind that draft standards are very affordable, and in certain circumstances may be a good way to keep up to date with developments if you don't think you will need the final version. Or you may want to comment!
  4. Thanks Hugo. The full text can be downloaded here too: https://t.co/zWBIYcbSLR

  7. Does anyone have any insight into whether the government's proposal to extend the period for liability for construction defects linked to materials (re: Grenfell) to 15 years will impact on the cost of PII and run-off insurance for us? (Previously I would have asked this of MFL directly but such a query may be best coming from the current staff team)
  8. These appear to be missing (i.e. no strapline)
  9. This is great and well done Andrew and his team for enabling this.
  10. Another great event next year will be the ten-yearly Floriade (https://floriade.com/en/) It is the closest thing you will get to the National Garden Festivals we used to run (the Dutch have been doing it longer though). It would be great if the LI organised a coach trip (not flight) there for members as the learning opportunities could be so much more. (e.g. with https://www.tailored-travel.co.uk/ ) I tried to get both Phil and Dan interested in this. Eventually someone will do it, I am sure. (Maar heb je een poffertjespan, Antonella?)
