  1. During a virtual ceremony on Wednesday 18 August, as part of the opening ceremony of IFLA’s World Congress 2020, IFLA President James Hayter announced Iraqi architect, landscape architect and academic Dr. Jala Makhzoumi as the 2021 Sir Geoffrey Jellicoe Award laureate. The annual Sir Geoffrey Jellicoe Award is the highest honour IFLA can bestow on a landscape architect. Inaugurated by IFLA in 2005, it celebrates a living landscape architect whose achievements and contributions have had a unique and lasting impact on society, the environment, and the profession of landscape architecture. Find out more and watch the presentation here. Huge congratulations to Dr. Jala Makhzoumi!
