I am considering taking on year out student and/or graduates for my practice Goodger Design Associates in Windsor Berkshire. Just wondered if the LI has any information on using the government Kick start scheme to fund an initial placement for a year out student or graduate and if anyone has used the kickstart scheme for this purpose.

Hi Toby, I don't know the answer to your question specifically, but am aware of environmental organisations using the Kickstart scheme to also address the longstanding lack of racial diversity in the sector through Race For Nature https://www.race4nature.org.uk// which might be of interest.

The LI are working with Birmingham City Council on a Gateway to Kickstart which will hopefully feed into our new apprenticeship scheme. I hope you receive more answers from landscape professionals who have used the scheme.
